Transport around Manchester Airport (MAN)

Manchester Airport (MAN) is easily reached by road, rail or public transport from Manchester city centre. The airport is located approximately 14kms from Manchester city centre.

Rail

Manchester Airport Railway Station opened in May 1993 is located between terminals 1 and 2. Regular bus services provide connections with Manchester Piccadilly Railway Station, as there is no direct rail link to the airport.

Bus

all buses depart from Terminal 1 International Arrivals and from Terminal 2 Arrivals. The National Express coach company offers services to a large number of major UK cities.

Taxi

taxis are available from outside the Arrivals areas of all three terminals. Taxis serving the airport are all licenced and journeys are metered.

For all private hire taxi drop off is free of charge in the Departures zones, but charges apply for all pick ups. Manchester Airport (MAN) recommends that you arrange to meet your driver in the Arrivals hall.

Car

if you are approaching Manchester Airport (MAN) from the south, follow the M56, which leads directly to the airport. Exit at Junction 5.

From the east, take the M60 motorway until the M56. This will take you directly to the airport. The route to the airport is well signposted from the west, via the M56.
